The creative writing process is often a very weird one. If it were described in detail, without anyone knowing you were talking about the creative writing process, it would sound a lot like a conversation between a doctor and his patient… from an insane asylum.
There are always challenges in life. But some can be more overwhelming than others. Lately, I’ve been thinking about failure and what it can teach us.
Yes, love for writing motivates a writer to start a writing career and to one day finish it. So in this way our love of writing does motivate us in the long-term, yes. But the dirty little secret is that sometimes writers need a little kick in the butt to get us motivated in the short-term, during that day to day battle’s of the long-long-long drawn out war.

Hooked On The Right Idea
People are all like old TV antennas picking up different signals. Sound waves, smells waves, emotional waves, etc. Most people generally pick up these typical signals and that’s it. Writers and other artists, on the other hand, are like satellite dishes. We get ALL the channels.
